Ikkyu San

一休さん (いっきゅうさん)

Ikkyu San or Ikkyusan was a famous old Japanese anime broadcasted from 1975 to 1982. This Japanese anime featured a young boy called Ikkyu who was a genius who can solve any problems by meditating. Ikkyu San was a young monk trainee. This Japanese anime had 296 episodes featuring the life of Ikkyu San.

The picture above shows the cast of Ikkyu San (Ikkyusan or 一休さん (いっきゅうさん)) - On the left land side, the old man with long beard was the head of the Temple which Ikkyu San resided, next to him was the Shogun in the yellow outfit he wore in every episode of this Japanese anime, then his mother, and Shinemon San. Sitting next to Ikkyu San is Sayo Chan, the only girl who lived at the same temple as Ikkyu San. Sayo Chan is the only girl that came close to being Ikkyu San 's girlfriend but since they were all very young there was no love story between them.

Ikkyu San or Ikkyusan was the son of the Japanese Emperor Komatsu. However, Ikkyu San did not find that out until later. The Japanese anime Ikkyu San started off with Ikkyu San living in the Yasukuni Temple training to become a monk. Ikkyu San's mother was a secret mistress of the Shogun.

Since Ikkyu San now lived in at the Yasukuni Temple, his mother isolated herself from the Shogun and from Ikkyu San to hide the fact that Ikkyu San was the son of the Shogun and also to make sure that Ikkyu San grew up to be a strong man and not a mommy boy. Ikkyu San's life and the Shogun's intertwined with the Shogun frequently asked Ikkyu San for help in solving problems. Ikkyu San, unaware that the Shogun was his father, helped him but thought he was a pain.

The Shogun sent his trusted samurai body guard called Shinemon San to watch over Ikkyu San. Shinemon San befriended Ikkyu San but ended up asking Ikkyu San to solve many of his personal problems such as his love life with Lady Sue whom he fell head over heal in love with yet messed up on his chance of marrying her.

Ikkyu San has been one of the most successful Japanese anime TV series. Ikkyu San was a loved Japanese anime character because he was such as clever boy who had a good heart and always helped people solve problems.
