Pa Man

Pa Man or Paman is another popular, old Japanese anime for young kids about super heroes called Pa Man. Pa Man Japanese anime featured child super heroes. Pa Man refers to the main super hero boy wearing a blue super hero mask. Underneath the mask, he was an ordinary boy but with the mask, he had super power and could fly. This old Japanese anime tried to be as popular as Doraemon but, although it was a popular Japanese anime TV series and comic books, it did not quite match the level of popularity enjoyed by Doraemon Japanese anime. This Japanese anime was made for children entirely.

Each episode of Pa Man Japanese anime was short, about 5-10 minutes long and was about a crime that Pa Man and his team needed to solve. Pa Man was recruited by Superman (not the Christopher Reeves Superman) from another planet. Superman needed to maintain peace on earth and since he himself had to maintain peace on many planets, he recruited a bunch of school children to do his work.

Pa man was the kid called Michio who was an average kid in every way but had a good heart. The second super hero on the Pa Man team was a monkey called Boo Bee. The monkey could not speak human language but Pa Man seemed to understand it. The third team member was a girl who wanted to be called Pa Lady but Pa Man kept calling her Pa ko. She hated it. The fourth member of the team was Pa Young who did not appear in too many episodes.

Pa Ko identity

One of the interesting twist of the story of Pa Man is the identity of the female member of the team, Pa Ko. She refused to let Pa Man or anyone see her face without the mask. She was the only team member who kept her identity secret. Pa Man always bugged her about that but she had her reasons. She was actually the super star and singer called Sumire. She made millions of yen singing and in concert. She was Pa Man's age and all the kids everywhere were in love with her.

Sumire kept her identity secret because she felt that she never had a real friend, being the pop icon that she was. Everyone sucked up to her of was nice in front of her but talked behind her back. Pa Man, she said in one episode, was her only real friend. This Japanese anime was a nice alternative to a few other Japanese anime as Sunday morning cartoon.
