Story of Marybell

Below is more story of Marybell (マリーベル), a Japanese comic book story about a young girl in France during the French revolution. Like all French commoners, Marybell had a tough life at the time, struggling from day to day. Being left alone by everyone she knew as a child including her only family and brother, Marybell journeyed from place to place hoping to find her brother.

As a child, she was best friend with a Duke 's or nobleman' s son, Roville Ranbert. Roville was in love with Marybell so his father sold Marybell off to prevent his son from marrying Marybell, a marriage that would have been very inappropriate. Being separated from her love, Marybell struggled to survive. Along her journey to find her brother, Marybell met many nice and not so nice people. She learned about acting and the French stage acting house called Comedy Frances.

Comedy Frances had a big star called Nongnu who became Marybell 's nemesis and her brother's love as the story progressed.

Marybell became a famous actress with Comedy Frances cheered by the commoners. Marybell would wear ragged clothes on stage which was never done before. Money was no longer an issue and Marybell rose in status and loved by the people.

Later, Marybell was reunited with her brother who had a big part in the revolution despite her knowledge. Marybell was also later reunited with Roville Ranbert, her first and only love. Roville had changed but his love for Marybell remained so they got engaged. However, with the French revolution going on, everyone was doing something behind the scene. Roville got jealous of Marybell 's relationship with her brother, not knowing that the man was her brother. He became distant and Marybell broke off the engagement.

In the end, the French revolution got too intense and her brother was to be executed. That was when Roville found out that the man he was jealous of was in fact the brother he promised to help Marybell find. In the end, everybody that Marybell knew and loved died except herself and Roville. Marybell then struggled to live on.
