The story of Umi no Yami Tsuki no Kage (aka Darkness of the Sea, Shadow of the Moon, 海の闇、月の影) Japanese anime was about the two identical twin sisters called Rumi (older sister) and Ruka (younger twin sister). Rumi and Ruka were very close and similar. They both loved the same man called Toma. Rumi and Ruka joined the running team so that they could be close to the Captain of the team, Toma.

However, one day Toma confessed that he loved Ruka. Ruka felt bad about Rumi so she did not say anything back to Toma. When Rumi heard the story, she told Ruka that she must accept Toma's love and that Rumi would be happy for her. Before Ruka could do that, they had to go on a trip to Egypt.

On the trip, an ancient cave was found and everyone on the trip died except the two twin sisters. They were unconscious and were found in the cave.

When Ruka woke up in the hospital, she tried to tell everyone about the cave but the police said there was nothing there. Ruka turned to Rumi who claimed that she did not remember anything and did not see anything. Ruka was puzzled and worried.
